Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods who was born at Long Beach Hospital in Orange County California on December 30, 1975, is an American professional golfer whose achievements to date place him among the most successful golfers in history. At a time when he was World No. 1, he was the highest-paid sportsman in the world for several years according to Forbes. By the time he was 7 years old his father, Earl had him listening to subliminal tapes in an effort to improve his mental game. Along with the tapes his father waged what he called psychological warfare on Tiger Woods. Typically he would cough, yell, laugh, scream, move, run, jump or throw something at Tiger while he was swinging. He would do absolutely anything to distract him.

Additionally, Tiger Woods is only the second golfer, after Jack Nicklaus, to have completed a career Grand Slam three times. Woods has won a total of 16 World Golf Championships, and he won at least one of those events in every year since they began in 1999.
